DIY Dry-Erase: Picture Frame Memo Board Makeover

I’ve never been happy with this DIY picture-frame-turned-whiteboard (below) I made about a year ago for recording memos and grocery lists. The paper I had selected for the center was cute but is too busy and disguises the words written on top. My “to-do” letters left much to be desired as well.

The circle in the lower right corner is the lid to a juice can with paper mod-podged to it and a homemade marble magnet for holding important notes. This part was glued to the frame with Epoxy, so it stayed (and I like this handy feature).

I pulled the frame apart and began my new layout. I picked a fun retro rainbow paper (part of which I had used for a previous project).

I printed the words “shopping list” on a piece of cardstock, then folded it for some visual interest. I also printed out a list of important and emergency phone numbers to keep beneath the glass.

I glued everything down except the emergency numbers (which could change if we move), carefully cleaned the glass, and put the frame back together and hung it. I love it. Much simpler and the grocery list is much easier to decipher.
